Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh has got a thumbs up from casting director Mukesh Chhabra. He has called Kabir Singh an absolutely trippy film.
Shahid Kapoor has been raising the bar with each of his films. If he played a drug addict in Udta Punjab to perfection, he won the hearts with his performance as Maharawal Ratan Singh in Padmaavat. Now, Shahid is returning to the big screen with another intense role. The actor has stepped into the shoes of Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda for Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Kabir Singh. With a day left for the film to hit the screens, the first review of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani's Kabir Singh is out.
Casting director Mukesh Chhabra took to Twitter to laud Kabir Singh. He not only called it a trippy film but also praised Shahid for giving his best performance so far.
He said, "#KabirSingh is a must watch movie!!! @shahidkapoor's best performance so far. Mind blowing.Aur @Advani_Kiara kya baath hai. An absolutely trippy film. The audience is going to go mad. The background score just compliments everything. Superb Direction by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. (sic)"
Hindi remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh tells the story of a medical student who goes on a path of self-destruction after the love of his life gets married to someone else.
It is for the first time that Shahid will be seen in a remake. Talking about choosing Kabir Singh as his first remake, Shahid said at Delhi press conference, "I connected to the character, I connected to the film. It stayed with me. The reason I did Kabir Singh was that I strongly connected with it. Also, since Telugu audience loved this film, I got a chance to bring this film to the national audience, so it is like a good opportunity for me."
