Bodhidharma was a prince of Kanchipuram state in SouthernIndia (Bharat). He was born in Pallav raj of ancient South India, younger son of King of Kanchipuram. At the age of 22 he renounced nobility, became a monk and moved to China to spread the teachings of Buddhism.
