The Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV finally hits the Indian market as the country's first connected car with a host of segment first features on offer. The Hyundai Venue will rival the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford Ecosport.
One of the most awaited products of the year, the Hyundai Venue subcompact SUV has been launched in India. Prices for the new Hyundai Venue start at ₹ 6.50 lakh for the base petrol version, going up to ₹ 11.10 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India) for the range-topping automatic variant. However, Hyundai Venue on road price goes approximately up to ₹ 7.34 lakh to ₹ 12.95 lakh (on-road Delhi). The Venue made its global debut last month in India as well as the US, and will be taking on a number of offerings including the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Mahindra XUV300, Tata Nexon and the Ford Ecosport. Hyundai garnered over 2000 pre-bookings for the Venue in a single day, promising a strong start for the SUV. Deliveries will begin by later this month. India is one of the key markets for the Hyundai Venue and it has been developed keeping the preference of India customers in concern. For instance, only the India-spec Venue is offered with rear air-con vents and the voice-assist system can recognise Indian-accented English.
The Hyundai Venue traces its roots to the Carlino concept showcased at the Auto Expo in 2016. The production-spec version finds its design language inspired from the newer Hyundai models with the massive cascading grille up front, split headlamps with projector lens and squared LED DRLs, tall stance and stubby boot design. The Venue looks small yet butch and there is a resemblance to the Creta too at the sides. The sub 4-metre SUV comes with faux cladding on the bumpers and the sides for the brawny appeal, even as the SUV is urban in its appearance riding on 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The Venue is offered in four variants, seven monotone colours and three dual-tone colour options.

The big takeaway is the Connected Car tag on the Venue that comes from the embedded eSIM for the connected tech that Hyundai calls BlueLink. The new feature offers access to functions like remote start, climate control, geofencing, SOS alert, Indian-accented English voice assist system and much more. The eSIM is powered by Vodafone-Idea. Safety tech is in abundance as well on the sub 4-metre SUV and includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with reverse camera, ESC, Hill Launch Assist and more.
